LILY COLLINS REVEALS FATHER PHIL COLLINS' SONGS ARE WHAT HER DAUGHTER LOVES TO LISTEN TO

Lily Collins revealed that her baby daughter Tove enjoys listening to grandpa Phil Collins' music 'every morning.'

The 36-year-old actress - who recently offered rare insight into motherhood - opened up about the topic during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday.

She is the daughter of the British singer and former member of the rock band Genesis. Earlier this year in January, the Emily In Paris star announced she welcomed Tove with husband Charlie McDowell via surrogate

When asked by Fallon what the nearly one-year-old loves listening to, she replied, 'In our household, I would say grandpa P... Yeah, my dad. We play him every morning.'

The late night talk show host added, 'You have to play Phil Collins, come on! That's the greatest. Every morning?'

'Every morning,' Collins agreed, before listing out some songs her little one likes to hear including Invisible Touch and In The Air Tonight.

However, the Hollywood actress shared that Phil does have another 'rival' in the house when it comes to music artists.

'The only person to rival grandpa P though is Caspar Babypants,' Collins shared, referencing to children's artist Christopher Ballew.

Ballew had also been a former member of the alternative rock group called the Presidents of the United States of America.

'And I would say that he is highly underrated,' the mom-of-one said, before humorously adding, 'And if you don't know who he is,  Run Baby Run and Chicken In The Cornbread are top hits.'

Caspar Babypants has become a big hit in their household - so much so, that both Collins and her husband listen to him even without their little girl.

'Yeah, you guys, I'm telling you. Charlie and I listen to him on road trips when Tove's not even around.'

Aside from listening to music, the Mirror Mirror star revealed that their nearly one-year-old daughter is also 'very into tennis.'

She further expressed, 'And we got her tennis racket at Wimbledon. They have like a mini tennis racket, and she just grips that thing.

'She grips it really hard. And I'm very into tennis. However, my husband is really into pickleball. And he is pickler. And there is a rivalry in our household.'

Back in January of this year, the stars - who tied the knot in 2021 - revealed that they had welcomed daughter Tove via surrogate.

At the time, the actress took to Instagram to share a picture of the newborn who was resting in a tiny bed with a white blanket hanging over the edge that had their daughter's name on the front.

'Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell,' the actress had written.

'Words will never express our endless gratitude for our incredible surrogate and everyone who helped us along the way. We love you to the moon and back again…'

Collins has already started giving Tove a 'musical education' and previously shared an adorable clip as both she and the little one danced to Genesis' track I Can't Dance.

Her dad Phil was notably the lead singer of the rock band until he left to focus on his solo career in 1996. He rejoined the group in years after, such as for the reunion tour from 2021-2022.

Not long after revealing that they have become parents, he soon hit back at criticism over the decision to have their first child via surrogacy.

'In regards to the unkind messages about surrogacy and our path to having a baby – it's OK to not be an expert on surrogacy.'

The star - who is the son of A Clockwork Orange actor Malcom McDowell - added, 'It's OK to not know why someone might need a surrogate to have a child. It's OK to not know the motivations of a surrogate regardless of what you assume.

'And it's OK to spend less time spewing hateful words into the world, especially in regards to a beautiful baby girl who has brought a lot of love into people's lives.'

McDowell concluded with, 'That's all for now because she just pooped and I need to change her diaper.'

During an interview with Elle Spain published last month in November, Collins opened up about motherhood.

'It's a wonderful and novel role. Every day is different. I'm incredibly grateful for it and head over heels in love with my daughter.'

She further gushed, 'I'm thrilled to discover her new abilities and to think about the adventures that await us together.'

The star also got candid about how her views of being 'perfect' have changed since welcoming her daughter.

'I think having a baby changes your priorities and your perspective on so many things that, when you go back to work or other activities, it's more appealing not to be perfect because you can no longer be hyper-focused solely on yourself.'

The actress also added that 'what's important is that I can be present for my family and my work, and I'll do the best I can, but perfection doesn't count, it doesn't matter...'

The beauty then explained she is 'still learning how to manage everything.

'I'm new to motherhood, but my goal is to be present wherever I am. If I'm at home, I want to be 100% there, but I also want to be present at work.'

The star continued, 'So I make sure I choose projects I'm truly passionate about, because they're going to take me away from home, which now has a much deeper meaning.'
