GET A FIRST LOOK AT THE VANCOUVER-SHOT LEGALLY BLONDE PREQUEL SERIES ELLE

Prime Video has just released the official trailer for the highly anticipated, Vancouver-shot Legally Blonde prequel series.

All eight of the show’s episodes will be released on the streamer on July 1. Season 2 is currently shooting in Vancouver .

The prequel series follows the title character, Elle, played by newcomer Lexi Minetree, as a high-school student before she became the much-loved Reese Witherspoon Elle of the two Legally Blonde movies from the early 2000s.

According to the official synopsis, we meet Elle in 1995 as her family moves to Seattle and she wades into the tumultuous waters of a new high school that is a long way from her previously shiny, sunny Bel-Air world.

Throughout the ups and downs of navigating a new school and new relationships, Elle looks to her family as a touchstone and grows much closer to her mother, played by June Diane Raphael.

“With each challenge she faces, Elle grows closer to the Elle Woods we know and love today,” says the series logline.

The new trailer shows Elle getting the news the family is moving from Bel-Air to Seattle. From there, we see her trying to settle into a new high school, where flannel is the new black, and pink “isn’t a personality,” as one character tells her.

“I’m Elle. I like ice coffee, the month of July and when people dress kind of tennis-y even when they don’t play tennis,” says a pink halter dress-wearing Elle as she introduces herself to a distinctly grunge kid sitting next to her in a classroom.

Other cast members on the Hollywood North-shot show include Tom Everett Scott, Jacob Moskovitz, Gabrielle Policano, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker, and Amy Pietz. Witherspoon is among the executive producers on the project.
